Olexandra Solomka graduated with a first in Fine Art from Loughborough University in 2013. Her emersion in the art world for those three years convinced her that she would try to keep up her artistic practise for as long as possible. Though, while at university, she was taught to focus heavily on the conceptual side of art, whereas she now realises her passion lies within painting, and specifically portraiture, which is what she is doing now.

Her inspiration comes partly from surrealism, partly from the old masters, partly from William Morris and partly from contemporary artists, such as Jenny Saville, Lucian Freud and Lizzie Riches.
