Refining his restoration techniques for a range of antiques, from arms & armour to alabaster statues and wooden cherubs, has inspired Chris John Watson's own unique style. Decades of experimenting in order to emulate, as far as possible, the techniques and finishes used by the master artists in the past, with a subversive modern twist which is not evident from the first viewing..

Now a full-time artist, Chris is intrigued by the perception of age in art. His unique works play on the sensation of displacement, of temporal disruption, something that – without being apparent at first glance – does not quite fit in.
