Allison Waterhouse, after leaving Art College, graduated in graphic design and worked as an Art Editor for publishers. After using the artistic streak in many diverse ways (including having children and being ordained in the Methodist Church), she now works as a prison chaplain and spiritual director. She returned to painting, which was the first love, around 2006 at the Riverside Artists studio. She exhibited at the last Wandsworth Open House.
Allison draws her sudden moments of inspiration from particular places and time. Either abstract shapes created by boat masts in a harbour, or a boat passing across the water in what seemed a sacramental time of quiet and peace.
